As with all natural things, intuition is a part of us, if we now use it or not. Intuition is something we can learn to develop and use. It's like our muscles : if you never use them they are small and weak, sometimes atrophied, but they are there.
First of all, as I mentioned before, you have to switch from "seeing is believing" to "believing is seeing" , then interest yourself in a "technique" to help develop your intuition.
In fact we don't need a technique to help our intuition, but as it is a human ability which is almost never used, we have to pass through techniques before it is developed enough to use it "as is".
(Question : what is the purpose of those 70% of the human brain that scientists did not find out yet ?)

What do we have as intuition techniques ?

There is :

  1) Meditation (Stay calm, stop thinking)
  2) Dowsing (pendulum, Lecher antenna, rod)
  3) Cards laying (Tarot of Marseilles)
  4) Astrology (only to predict "one" future)

There are many more techniques depending on the culture you are living in, and as with all natural things, a technique that is suitable for one person will not be suitable for another.

When you see the techniques described above, and you have a scientific belief system, your hair will probably raise on your head, and that's OK because that means that your belief system is touched. (Yes ! You may be a follower of the scientific "sect" by believing everything the scientists say, as long as they have a high level diploma)
For those that still say that science has not yet found a rational explanation for these techniques, and as a result are to be rejected, please read the following story :

Imagine a scientist who is the first to investigate intuition. He finds certain things and gives a conclusive demonstration of his findings to a public with varied personalities.
In this public is a general of the army. The reactions of this public will vary of course, from total rejection to total acceptance. But the army general has another view of things: for him, even if it's contrary to his belief system, and even if the phenomena are explainable or not, if it works, he will be able to predict the movements of the enemy.
Imagine now the thoughts in the head of this general : I have super powerful bombs, but what is their use if the enemy "knows" where I'm going to use them ? Thus, I have to have a technique to know in advance what are the actions of the enemy. And as a result, I will always be on the winning side. And of course it must be avoided that the enemy has a similar technique.

Needless to say that the scientist will have "disappeared" the next morning, and you will find him working in a military research centre, with his salary tripled, and an unlimited budget for his top secret research on the subject. Also a "colossal" budget will be spent to avoid that the information will come to the ears of the "enemy". It's even probable that the investment will be superior to that of the weapons making, because due to that technique, the weapons are less effective. (By the way : In the US you have the CIA, central intelligence agency, or central intuition agency or both ?)

The little story above is one of the main reasons why we never see a correct explanation on TV (and also on other public information channels) of these intuition techniques, except maybe to be "dismissed" by "fake" scientists to avoid that the public would be interested. But people are interested, otherwise the "future tellers" and other things like horoscopes and mediums would not have such a success.

Let's return to our intuition techniques.
It must be said right away that between really knowing such a technique and to say that you know a technique, there can be a great difference. (Unfortunately 90% of the cases who say that they know such a technique, and then use the nave people to make money, are a bitter reality.)
It is clear that the ones who really master such a technique, will not go public, because they know that they will be considered "dangerous" by the military. And almost all those that are public can be considered as charlatans.
So if you had a feeling of rejection towards these "future tellers", you were probably right because it is not there that you will find the real ones...

Still with us ?
Let's now see the practical side, how to develop our inner intuition.
On this site we are going to concentrate on one technique : Dowsing. Not that the other techniques are less valuable, but dowsing has a greater variety of possibilities. This technique is discrete, and is accessible by some 85% of the people. You may always learn other techniques to complete your knowledge if you want.
But before we really start, you may ask yourself : Why should I be interested in such a technique ? What can it bring into my daily life, except for that "belief system" ?
So here are some qualities of intuition :

Are there disadvantages to intuition ?

Let's say that for the scientific world there is a main disadvantage : Intuition is not reproducible.
Why is it that with intuition you cannot repeat several times the same experiment ?
Imagine a high school professor, with an extraordinary intelligence and a doctors degree in several branches. Really a person you can ask all kinds of questions, and he will respond correctly and sincerely. Then you want to test if the responses of that professor are reproducible, and you ask him ten times the same question.
It is likely that the second or third time you ask the question, the professor won't answer any more or give you a wrong answer. Therefore you may conclude that this professor is not reproducible, and that his answers are not better than hazard.
The intuition is something natural, and responds to laws of nature and is not some "mechanical" thing. And if you do not know these laws, or even the existence of them, you might make a bad scientific conclusion.

If a simple person like me (Webmaster) can detect the laws that are behind the intuition, (with trial and error) then the scientists must be able to find them easily, except if they are so blinded by their "double blind tests"!

Another disadvantage for those who use intuition, is that the information may be "unpleasant" for the one who receives it, because it often challenges our "belief system", or it turns upside down our little "habits". But as we have seen before, the best way to evolve, is to be challenged and destabilized (temporarily) in our beliefs..(I thought it was right to....)
And for those who do not know it already, the purpose of life is not to make money, but to evolve. (How do I feel with lots of money, or no money ?)
After this enumeration of advantages and disadvantages, up to you to decide what is more interesting :

  A) To have a good intelligence, acquire a lot knowledge in schools, seminars and courses, then have a good diploma, and then forget 90% of it, and take the others who don't have the possibility to have the same knowledge for inferior ones.
  B) To have a good intelligence, acquire a lot knowledge in schools, seminars and courses, and add the intuition which is a reservoir of 100 times the knowledge your memory can take (conscious memory), and in which you can dig the necessary information for each moment, for you or for the others.

In the case of B, the ego can also take some importance, but we will see later on this site that a too developed ego will act as a brake to the intuition.

Let's come to the point :
Let's test our belief system to see if it is worth something. Intuitions through dowsing is a marvellous instrument, directly usable, to the contrary of other techniques such as meditation, where you first have to learn to stay "calm" in your mind. But in both cases, you will need a few months of training to "interpret correctly" the received information.

How does it work ?
The humans have the chance to have a brain which is capable of much more than we use at present. And as the brain controls everything in our body (physical), like your muscles and also your intuition, why not combine both ?
So, by holding a pendulum correctly in your hand, and "teach" your brain to use the muscles of your arm unconsciously, (not controlling it) you can make the link between your intuition and the movements of the pendulum. Then this "intuition" function (that hears everything you say or think!) will hear your question, (it's not necessary to speak it out loud) and will make your muscles react in such a way to make your pendulum move. And this movement, that can be in different directions or figures, is your answer. This answer may be positive or negative, pleasant or unpleasant, but the answer is always "right" in the context of the asked question.
You can find all the details of the functioning of the pendulum with examples and exercises here in this didactic document.

If you are interested, take the time to familiarize with this tool, because when you will have had some interesting results, you will find this tool so wonderful that you won't be able to live without.
It is clear that if you make a leap forward in your evolution, that it is very difficult or impossible to go back. (Why should you ?) Do you know a person who goes to the doctor ans says : Can you take out a part of my brain because I'm too intelligent ?

Now you may ask yourself : where do the answers come from ?
In the document where I explain the dowsing in detail, I speak about a "collective unconscious", but what is that "thing"?
To give an acceptable response to that question, we have to challenge our belief system. We have seen before that "seeing is believing" leads to nothing interesting.

Consider this :

Can you see the electromagnetic waves ? You may answer that those who have the correct wavelength and fall into the visible light -> yes. But what percentage of the actually known electromagnetic spectrum does represent visible light ? Very few, and do not forget that what we see is but a reflection of the electromagnetic waves of the visible spectrum on the objects. The wave itself, we don't see it. So if you apply the principle of "seeing is believing" the radio waves do not exist, and the X-rays neither.

So now, is it so difficult to imagine and to accept that there may exist intelligent beings with a memory, and that their vibration "frequency" is such that they do not reflect the visible light, and as a result, we don't see them ? And that their density is so "light" that we cannot smell or feel them (by touching) ? But maybe we can "sense" them with a special function of our brain we never use ? (intuition)
Let's imagine further : If those beings have the technology or the knowledge to "modify" their frequency, and to adjust it into the visible spectrum of light, and pass by in your field of vision, then your belief system will be challenged in a very strong way and emotional way : your hair may raise on your head, you may be paralysed with fear, or you may run like hell.. and what you have seen was an apparition, a ghost, an UFO...

Are you therefore part of those "fools" that have seen something impossible, or did you simply see another living being perfectly normal (but not so usual), or a not well known phenomena ? Maybe this being wanted to tell you something important, but you ran off..(shit! It didn't fit in your belief system).
Finally, to terminate this, the biggest challenge of your belief system is : God, we can't see him... does he exist ? Maybe there is also a way to "sense" him through another function of the human brain ? We will see that later on...

Let's come back to the question "where do the answers come from ?" They come from our unconscious or at least, through it. The unconscious is still something that defies the scientists and the belief system. Just take the paradoxical sleep during the night where the brain is more active than during the daytime while doing intellectual work. (And when waking in the morning you are well rested !) Also consider the "dj vu" impressions and the work of Rupert Sheldrake who analysed certain impressions.
(Mr. Sheldrake analysed the following facts : you walk in a crowded street, and you follow somebody and watch him/her constantly in the neck. You watch as if you are interested in that person. In this experience, there is 90% chance that this person will turn around to see who is watching, because the person "felt" someone was watching.
In fact, as explained already a little bit in the dowsing document, on a certain "unconscious" level, we are all "one". Separation only exists in the material world, the so called every day reality.
So the answer to the question of "where do the answers come from", we can already state that through our unconscious we can contact the unconscious of others (people / beings) which allows us to have the knowledge of others within our reach. And as I mentioned before, maybe there exist intelligent but non visible beings of which we can consult their knowledge too.
That gives us an enormous reservoir of consultable knowledge.
Ok but..you may ask, what if I am in Europe and the information I would like to have is in the unconscious of a person from Australia ? There will be a certain time before the information reaches me ?
The answer is NO, because only the "material" transmissions (electricity, electromagnetic waves ) take "time" to arrive.
On the other side of the material world, the informations are instantaneous because they are not "material". For those who are interested in the new findings of quantum physics (like me), there are some experiences who have shown phenomena of "non locality" (Paradoxe Einstein-Podolsky-Rosen)
Scientists have observed phenomena with elementary particles who react "together" to a cause, but are distanced by 20.000 km. This makes the "time - space" notion and the light speed to be questioned again. But as the scientists of the middle ages, who thought that the earth was flat... no panic, things can change again. The informations that come from the non-material side are not only immediate, but we can state that in this case "time" does not exist. (So the information can come "immediately" from another galaxy for instance.) On the "other side" all is in the "here and now".

Conclusion :

Intuition is something very interesting to add to our knowledge and abilities, because of the enormous amount of information you can reach. As said before, these informations do not depend on space and time. The hardest part will be the correct interpretation of those received informations, as explained in the document about dowsing, because the belief system will filter (auto-suggestion) the infos because some of them are "incredible".
So you need necessarily an adapted "belief system" to be able to maximize the usefulness of the received information. (Something you don't believe, you won't do anything with it, although it could be very interesting...)
In the third part on this site "The reality" we will see that we necessarily have to include some informations in our belief system to be able to benefit a maximum of our intuition. And the more we are able to understand and interpret correctly the information, the more we will receive. (The more you use your muscles, the stronger you become).
