| This lack of construction of his personality, will make him / her search by all means to fill this emptiness by believing himself / herself superior to others and by manipulating the others. This phenomenon is mostly unconscious by the manipulator. (He considers himself normal...) It must also be mentioned that this need to fill this emptiness does not give some pleasure to the manipulator, except in some rare cases where the manipulator experiences an ephemeral satisfaction after the manipulated do as he / she expected. (Like the greed for money, it also gives a temporary satisfaction when you receive money, but it quickly fades away because the underlying problem is not resolved, so you need more after a while...) But the manipulator cannot exist when there's nobody to manipulate. The manipulated is also very often a person with psychological problems (fragility) in the sense of not being able to cope with the problems all around, (family, work, society...) and also with his personal problems. (frustrations) The life of this manipulated person (victim) becomes easier when the decisions are made for him/her by the manipulators (sect). |

Often, psychologists who do not know the spiritual domain, will say that the gurus of a sect tell unverifiable things because they are in the domain of beliefs . In fact, these gurus take advantage of a little spiritual knowledge, but with their manipulators mind, they do not apply it in the sense of the evolution for the attracted persons. Sects take some truths out of spirituality to take advantage of their attraction on people. (Because the unconscious mind of people know what is truth and what is not.) That's the cause of the great success of some sects. But to let yourself guide by another is not being guided by yourself, and as explained in the part "reality", the best guide is the inner guide through the use of intuition, which avoids needing the others. |
| Of course, once psychologically weakened by a sect, it is very important that those "victims" be assisted by somebody capable to guide them towards their inner guide, with the purpose of making them independent again, and to recover their force and discernment. That avoids their fallback. So imagine what a psychologist, who has not only studied the classical psychology, but also spirituality as described on this site, could do to help these people in distress, simply by "adjusting" the ideas received in the sect to make them coincide with the total truth. The success of recovery of those persons would be much higher. Now, if you say that psychologists like that do not exist, then look here :( Created by Colette Portelance: http://www.andc.eu/accueil/index.html ) |

The popular definition (in the dictionary) of sect is : A group of men and women sharing the same philosophical, religious or other doctrine. And also : Group of dissidents in the minority who are closed on themselves and created as opposition to mainstream religions or philosophies. And even : Religious or other group with the purpose of exploiting the followers for the profit of one or more gurus. With that kind of definitions, almost all groups or organizations can be considered as sects, because a group of persons with completely opposite ideas will not last a long time.(discussions are impossible) A better way of seeing things, is to watch the final goal of an organization. (The things you can see by observing their behavior, and not based on what they are saying!) |
| An organization who is really beneficial is in the style of providing useful knowledge to the concerned persons, while leaving them free to come and to go. Of course an organization of that style can also ask for money with the goal of continuing their activities, but the final aim is to make the interested happier, as well inside the organization as outside, and specially to make them independent. (So they don't need the community any more when the learning is completed. And also because they became strong enough to face the problems of life on their own.) As said before, a simple (or complex) logical and intellectual analyze of the elements and techniques used by some people, does not permit to qualify them as a sect or not. What's more, an ignorance of real spirituality by those institutions designed to decide who is sect and who isn't, contributes to their inability to express a correct judgment. |
